REAL WEDDINGS
Relaxed musical Wedding
It’s invaluable to have musicians in the family, but particularly if they’re willing to sing at your wedding. Abby and James were in this lucky position and it gave their wedding a very personal feel.
Abby and James’ relaxed nature made everything appear effortless. The Barn looked great with their minimalist, sophisticated style. The Corn Barn was used as a games area and the children got involved with the lawn games; table tennis and table football were bit hits. The decorations and natural linen fabrics and colours, Abby’s bare feet during the ceremony and James and his groomsmens’ earthy tweed attire all contributed to a naturalistic feel of muted elegance.
A relaxed meal with guests serving themselves from the hog roast marquee worked well. With everyone fed and watered the tables were cleared to make way for the ceilidh band. Seriously energetic dancing ensued, with very few of wedding guests avoiding a jig. This was followed with a disco playlist of the couples’ favourite tunes, with a chill-out area around the fire pit on the lawn for those seeking to rest their feet.
Again it was the family support and chilled out vibe that made this wedding a very heart warming and inclusive affair.

Peaky Blinders Wedding
Proud Brummies, Kirsty and Kev settled on Clifford Barton after Covid twice scuppered their original Greek Island wedding plan. Kirsty indulged her creative flair to produce all of their decorations and flower arrangements herself, which looked stunning and lent the event a real personal feel. It was important for Kirsty and Kevin to have their dogs with them to celebrate their day and Stan and Olly looked great in their wedding attire. The gang of bridesmaids captivated with elegant swagger down to Bridesmere bridge. Rather than a Registrar, Kirsty and Kev’s good friend, acting as celebrant, oversaw a highly personal ceremony.
Everyone enjoyed a glass of fizz by the lake before strolling back down to Swallow Barn where particularly competitive games were played. Dave Haggert provided a hearty Wedding BBQ feast, with courses interspersed by an abundance of speeches. Following the meal the couple were whisked back to the lake for a stunning dusk photo session, involving smoke and all sorts.
The energy levels peaked when DJ Flexx, a friend of the couple from their Ibiza days, came on stage with a storming set. Dave brought out pasties for the hungry dancers, whilst those in need of a rest chilled out around the firepit.

Action Packed, totally chilled!
Jess and Ryan really pulled out all the stops for their wedding and created an activity packed yet impressively relaxed day. Dogs were at the centre of things, including as the theme for the table plan, featuring on the mini golf course and Gus taking on the critical job of ring bearer.
Friends and family all worked together to make it happen, including stringing home crafted floating tea lights over the lake for a truly magical look for the guard of honour sparkler parade, fitted in between the forest silent disco and the Ferrantes’ stomping set back at Swallow Barn. Not forgetting fitting in a quick visit to the photo booth for guests to get a photo momento of the day. The evening was rounded off with marshmallows and a night cap around the fire pit.

Magical Woodland Wedding
Zoe and Liam’s love of nature impelled them to seek a woodland setting for their union. The Clifford Barton team explored options with them and ultimately settled on ‘Twixt Tw’Oaks – a beautiful sloped native woodland area overlooking two large oak trees – between which Gavin built them a discreet timber ceremonial platform. The wedding was a wonderfully quirky nature-soaked celebration, with Zoe and Liam sitting regally on ‘peacock chairs’ (painstakingly sourced over months of e-bay scouring) set between pampass grass. Guests strolled down through the winding woodland trail to the Ceremony, accompanied by an acoustic string quartet and the sounds of rustling leaves.
Then on to the lake for drinks and canopés on Bridesmere Bridge. Back at Swallow Barn for more drinks and games on the lawn and a sumptuous wedding feast provided by Fig and Smoke. Zoe’s careful souring of pre-loved décor reduced the carbon footprint of their wedding and the brown and orange cactus theme was beautifully crafted to complement the whole event’s natural theme.
